Eph5:17 Don't act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. NLT
When I finished my NYSC, I was eager and desirous to do something for God. I felt it was time for me to go Pastoring so I decided to hook-up with a senior friend in ministry to get all that sorted for me in his church. One morning while on my bed, I had the leading to start a street outreach that will attract street urchins to come hear the gospel. That was a total deviation from what I thought I should do.
We organised a football competition. The street urchins came in their numbers even with cigarette and marijuana. An evangelist preached a simple salvation message and we had a wonderful time on the crusade ground. If I had jumped into Pastoring at that time, I would have missed out on God's plan for my life at that moment. Today, we are into evangelistic ministry with mission as its focus.
The life of a disciple isn't a careless one. True disciples of Christ that wants to do God's bidding do not act rashly neither do they make decisions without consulting their master. God's word is clear that we shouldn't act thoughtlessly but we should seek to understand what God wants us to do. Have you asked God if he has a hand in what you're doing? Are you running your life by yourself or he's running it for you?
Spend quality time with God so as to have an understanding of his will for your life per time.
Father, I receive grace to patiently wait on God to know what he has for me. Amen
