Matthew 4:19 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”

"ONE" WITH VISION HELPERS

Though we have been examining the making of "one", we must also realize that God can deliver great visions to a singular entity but no individual can fulfill God's plan all alone. I am yet to see one great man who was a lone ranger in life and matters of destiny. Jesus was one man who came to the world with a clear mandate, he knew he came to seek and save the lost. The vision was clear but He went out of His way to seek for people He can disciple for the pursuit of that vision. He went everywhere calling a selected number of persons to become His disciples. Why? So that when He is gone, they will carry on the task and fulfill His vision. Today, we are products of that vision that was handed down to the disciples.

One man is free to catch a vision and discover purpose but he is not permitted to run with the vision alone else he'll make a mess of the vision. David was a one man army raised by God in the wilderness to disgrace Goliath. He achieved that feat with ease but when the vision expanded beyond killing Goliath, God sent some beleaguered men to him for training in 1Sam 22:2: "Then others began coming—men who were in trouble or in debt or who were just discontented—until David was the captain of about 400 men." Later these men were later called the mighty men of David in 2Sam 23:8-36. At first, they were beleaguered but after buying into the vision of David, they became mighty men on their own. *Calling people to be part of your vision is not an opportunity to "use" them but it is a responsibility placed on your shoulders to "make" them. When Jesus called the twelve to be fishers of men, He said, "I will make you" not "I will use you". Start making men and stop using them.

The perpetuity of your vision lies in making men who will carry on with the task. Start praying and mobilizing. Even if God has called you into politics, you cannot do it alone. You need a large number of like minds who share your vision, ethos of governance and style. I have told several persons that one good leader can change Nigeria but not without having the support of majority across the different political structures. That good man/ leader need to have the majority behind him at the ward level, in the house of assemblies and ensure that those who are key to his vision see things from his point of view. Until that is in place, the vision remains an illusion. For whatever assignment God has committed into your hands, start raising men who will buy into that vision and run with it.

Action point

Father, I receive the grace to influence others with the vision you gave me in Jesus name
