THE PATH TO VICTORY- CLOSE THE GATES
Have you ever asked to know what the greatest sexual organ is? Most people would naturally assume that their private parts are the greatest sexual organ but that's not true. The mind is the greatest sexual organ in your body. That is the central control unit of all forms of sexual immorality. If it doesn't come from the mind, the body can do nothing. Some desire to be free truly but they do not know how. When Paul said that sexual purity is the will of God, he further said: "that every one of you should KNOW HOW to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;"(1 Thessalonians 4:4 KJV). The victory over sexual immorality comes when you "know how" to configure the mind for purity. Whatever is not in the mind can never be done by the body. Proverbs 23:7 says, "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he" and as he continues to think in his mind, so he will remain.
The mind has two major entry gates:( a) the eyes and (b) the ears. Whoever desires to configure the mind rightly should watch what goes into the mind through the eyes and ears. The power of audiovisual is what the enemy is using to prepare the hearts of men for sexual immorality. That's why there's a touch of sex appeal on almost all adverts you see on t.v.and some radio adverts. They design such adverts to spark erotic feelings and emotions. Also, if you listen to the fast-selling songs in the entertainment world, often, they have sex appeal as a bait to generate traffic. The video vixens they use are almost stark naked. It is impossible to feed your eyes and ears with the junks of today and not be polluted in the mind. The man that has mastered what he sees and hears has gained mastery over sexual immorality. What are the images and content on your phone and laptops? Do you visit porn sites or take pleasure in looking at nudes? There are believers crying in prayer&fasting over their immoral lives but immediately after they leave the place of prayer, they return to their vomit and they keep asking "why". The first battle you must conquer is the battle of the mind and the "how" is to close your eyes and ear gates against whatever has the capability to pollute the mind.
Apostle Paul gave us a blue print on what to do after we have shut the eyes and ears against mind pollutants. In the opening text, he said we should renew our minds. The tense used for "renew" in the Greek is a present continuous tense. It means that on daily basis, we must renew our minds. It involves putting new stuff into our minds to replace the old dirty stuff. This will take a life time. As we do this daily, we weaken the hold of the flesh on our lives. The tool for that renewal is the word of God and other word- based edifying materials. There's power in stuffing your mind with the word. That's the game changer. After you've stopped looking and listening to immoral contents, the mind can't be left blank. In fact, no man can make the mind blank. What happens is that in the process of renewal, new stuff evicts the old ones gradually. In overcoming this battle of the mind, the Psalmist's counsel is valid: "Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word."( Psalms 119:9). The word should be given attention, that's how to guard the heart against pollutants. King Solomon further counseled: "Keep thy heart with all diligence; For out of it are the issues of life." (Proverbs 4:23 KJV).
I refuse to be hunted, dominated and conquered on the bed of sexual immorality in the name of Jesus. I receive grace to conquer every demonic agent like Delilah sent on a mission to my life in Jesus name. My destiny and glory is preserved in Jesus name.
