James 5:17 Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.
VISION DRIVEN
A careful study about men that shook their world and made impact as one revealed that they were driven by a vision. In context of our teaching, what is a vision? A vision is the revelation of God's plans and purposes to man. It is the unveiling of what God want you to do in life. That's vision. A God-given vision is what you see yourself doing even when your eyes are closed. It is what you see with your inner eyes and the prompting in your spirit-man about God's plan for your life. When God wanted to raise Paul(One man), He was given a vision and the pursuit of that vision is the reason we are reading about him today. When he stood trial before king Agrippa, he said, “So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the vision from heaven."(Acts26:19). Paul received from the Lord His assignment in life and he pursued it. The rest is history.
God-given vision has four components: Insight( what you see within or the signals from your spirit man), hindsight ( what you see from your past that is of great relevance to the present), foresight( What you see ahead) and eye sight( what you see physically as the vision becomes a reality). We can't be talking about the great influence and power one man can wield if he doesn't have a God-given vision he's running with. When purpose of life is not discovered, life becomes meaningless and a burden. Men that impacted their world and changed the course of history are men who have a vision and are motivated by it. Though a great vision is received by one and the pursuit begins with one but the scope of a God-given vision attracts like minds and embraces vision helpers. One man catches a vision and others buy into it. Your place(divine purpose) in life must be discovered first before you can make any meaningful impact. Men without vision are lost in the crowd and they just make up the numbers.
Every great initiative starts with one man that has a burning vision in his heart. Desire to find God's placement for your life first and then pursue it. There's so much God has in mind for our world but only a few persons have pressed deep into God's mind to unravel them. All the sectors of our society has a divine blue print, God is multi sectoral in His approach but most people always think about purpose and vision in terms of pulpit ministry. God prepared David for a political assignment, Daniel for public service though he was also a prophet. God want His reign and rule to permeate every sector of life and society. Life on earth may not be perfect but should be a prototype of what obtains in heaven: "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven"(Matthew 6:10 KJV). This can only happen if kingdom people find their place and influence their world with a kingdom culture. We are created to pick our life's assignment from God's table and start working on it. Such can only be delivered in the place of fellowship.
Holy Spirit, you are the revealer of truth. I ask that you reveal my life's assignment to me in Jesus name
