We live in a world where people want to break the word of God and get positive result; in the training of our Children, God recommend the use of rod moderately without causing harm. Forget about the western culture that forbids spanking and discipline for children. You'll see that teenage delinquency is higher in the west than in Africa and other continents where physical discipline is encouraged. Some mothers are fond of taking their children for deliverance when they ought to start the deliverance with cane.
I have the privilege to be working among teens and kids; I have seen spoilt teens that are ticking time bombs for their families and the nation. A teenager once wrote a love letter to a girl and the matter was reported to me, I sent for the parents to come see me in my office. The mother and father didn't see anything wrong in what the young boy did. They threatened against disciplining him.
That's how far our morals have decayed over time. If we don't want to harvest disasters amongst our children, harmless physical discipline is of some good. Teach and correct before you use the rod, mentor and be a model first to your children, use discretion to know when to apply the use of rod. Above all, pray and teach them God's word.
