BEFORE YOU PREACH- LET IT SINK

November 02, 2016 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

Ezekiel3:10 Then he added, "Son of man, let all my words sink deep into your own heart first. Listen to them carefully for yourself. NLT

God gave prophet Ezekiel a message to the nation of Israel but God told him that he should first of all imbibe the message He is giving to him before preaching it to others. There is a principle here to learn especially for preachers, don't preach a message that you haven't internalize neither should you preach what you don't practice.

Preachers sometimes could be Pharisaic in their preaching, Pharisees lay heavy burden of the law(doctrines) on people yet they don't obey it. One of the things that is very easy to do is to preach. Preaching is easy but the doing part is where the work lies. Mr preacher, you have the anointing and the word but are you doing what you are preaching?

Acts1:1 told us that Jesus began doing the things He taught before preaching or teaching them to the people. Your leadership and ministry becomes exemplary and impacting when you become a model of your message. Many don't read the bible neither do they understand what they are hearing in church but when your life is doing the preaching, you don't need to sweat while preaching.

Action point

Father, I receive the grace to be an example of what I am preaching In Jesus Name.
