Jonah1:1 The LORD gave this message to Jonah son of Amittai:(2)“Get up and go to the great city of Nineveh. Announce my judgment against it...(3) But Jonah got up and went in the opposite direction to get away from the LORD... hoping to escape from the LORD by sailing to Tarshish.
4 But the LORD hurled a powerful wind over the sea, causing a violent storm that threatened to break the ship apart. NLT
I met a Pastor in one of our rural outreaches, he told me about he has been in that village for over three decades doing ministry. At first, when God sent him to that village,he went there but because of persecution, he ran back to Lagos to do business. His business crumbled and he suffered not until he returned to his field of assignment.
You have an assignment from heaven that you must accomplish, that task is the reason why you were born. As you grow in the things of the Spirit, you'll begin to have a clearer understanding of that task like Jonah did. Some believers have a witness in their heart on what God want them to do but they have gone in the opposite direct like Jonah did.
The resultant effect of going against God's perfect will for our lives is stormy experience that may either redirect us back to his purpose or may terminate our lives. Some have died untimely because they've gone in opposite direction to where God sent them. Disobedience to God's direction would make you pay your bills because God is committed to his will not yours.
Father, I receive the grace not to go in the opposite direction In Jesus name.
