1John3:18 Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. 19 Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God. NLT
I watched a comedy skit recently about a woman and two hungry men. The woman sat beside these two hungry men in the bus and was eating all manner of things, she drank her juice with swagger. As she was eating and drinking in the bus, the two men beside her were salivating and were expecting her to even say 'hope you don't mind, join me' but she was all alone.
At the end of her feasting, she said 'let's share the word of God together'. These two hungry men protested in anger that if she can't share her food, she shouldn't bother about sharing the word of God with them. Though a comedy, there is a lesson to learn from it. If you don't show love to people by being sensitive to their needs, they won't listen to your gospel.
The true gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is a gospel of love and not of selfishness. Until we walk in love with those that either love or hate us, we won't walk in the fullness of what God has for us. God is love and so we should be. The proof of love is not in words but in actions. Talk is cheap but action is germane.
Father, I receive grace to walk in love and act right in love In Jesus name.
