Prov28:2 When there is moral rot within a nation, its government topples easily.
But wise and knowledgeable leaders bring stability. NLT
In lay man's word, we can paraphrase the scripture above to mean that when there is corruption within or in a nation especially in the political echelon, the nation would be in crisis but when wise and prudent leaders are at the helms of affairs in a nation, there is stability in leadership and the people rejoice.
In Africa and other third world nations, the kind of leadership that we've seen so far has been a backward, corrupt and inept kind of leadership. Take for example a country like Nigeria, we have the potential to become an economic force globally because all 36 states in Nigeria have at least one resources. Malaysia took palm seeds from Nigeria in the 60s, today they've grown to become one of the largest palm oil producer in the world. How did we get here? Corrupt, visionless and inept leadership.
Proverbs 29:2 says that when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice, the bible didn't say 'IF the righteous are in authority', it is incumbent on God's children that are called into national leadership to offer morally sound and wise leadership. Anywhere you find yourself leading, be a good leader, don't aide corruption, stamp it out and do the right thing.
Father, we pray that you guide our leaders right and give us good leaders at all levels In Jesus name.
