Ezra3:12 But many of the older priests, Levites, and other leaders who had seen the first Temple wept aloud when they saw the new Temple’s foundation. The others, however, were shouting for joy. NLT
When the children of Israel were taken captive, God's temple built by Solomon was destroyed, that temple was magnificient. When the foundation was to be laid again, the younger generation screamed for Joy but the older priests were crying because the glory of the former temple could not be compared with the new.
What some of us are calling the move of God today is just like someone pouring a 50litres keg of water into a drum whose capacity is 1000litres. We scream and shout in church, we clap and shout 'yes, God is here, this is the move of God' but the generation that has seen something deeper are weeping. When I read about the revival and awakenings of old, I wonder if such could happen again.
There use to be days when men get drunk in the Spirit, prophecies flowed, the sinners come to the altar without making altar call, the fear of God was contagious and men lived with eternity in view but here we are,we live in times of plenty psychological preaching with high sounding rhyming words, people hear such and say 'ride on Pastor'. When the men of old see this, they cry. We need to be discipled all over again and pursue a genuine walk with God.
Father, revive me In Jesus name. Amen
