1John3:17 If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God's love be in that person? NLT
In English language, the word Love is regarded as an abstract noun and a verb but in Christianity, it is not abstract it is a practical thing. God showed how much he love us by sending his only son to die for our sins. If his love had existed in his mind without a corresponding expression, we wouldn't benefit from it.
God's expectation is that we should show how much we love him by what we do and to also extend that love to others. There is no need to pray in tongues and fast when you have the ability to meet the needs of a fellow brother. We charismatics are fond of spiritualizing everything. When a fellow brother needs your help or influence to get a job or make progress in life, that's not the time to recommend deliverance for him/her.
One of the reason why unbelievers succeed(especially those opposing Christianity) is that they help themselves and even see such help as an act of service to God. Why would you say you love God and even romance him with worship songs but yet, your closest Christian brother is suffering?
Love is meant to be shown not hidden.
I receive grace to Love In Jesus name.
