1Pet2:12 Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world. NLT
Sometimes ago, there was an issue that almost snow-balled into serious quarrel between me and an unbelieving landlord. He wrongly accused me of breaking a portion of his property with my vehicle, he snapped my plate number and he reported me to my landlord when I wasn't around.
When he met with me, I allowed him to speak. I didn't know where the calmness came from but the manner in which I approached him calmed him down. The culprit later showed-up and he put-up a real mouth fight with the man. Later, I heard him telling my landlord that you have a very nice tenant. He saw when I was going to church with my wife and he greeted me well and still praised me in the presence of my landlord.
I wasn't moved by his praises but I knew he saw a reaction different from what he expected. He came to fight but he met peace. When you live with unbelievers, they don't care how much scriptures you know but your behaviour will always remain a reference point. God's word is admonishing us to live carefully and discreetly amongst the lost.
Father, I receive grace to be a good example of Christ-like character amongst unbelievers In Jesus Name.
