DOES GOD HAVE FAVOURITES?

February 01, 2015 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

1Pet1:17-And remember that the heavenly Father to whom you pray has no favorites. He will judge or reward you according to what you do. So you must live in reverent fear of him during your time as "foreigners in the land."

I have heard a lot of Christians call themselves God's favourite or tag themselves as special to God than others. Even some ministers are also fond of saying it. It is not about who says it or what we say but how scripturally right we are about what we say. Statements like this have made some people to feel so inferior and they see others as better.

I want to let you know today that God loves us all equally and we all have equal access to the father through Christ. God is not a partial God and he loves no man lesser than the other. The difference is just our understanding of these profound truth and how we are able to make good use of it. When you don't know how to receive the love of Christ and see things from the grace angle, you'll always miss out on God.

Your fasting and prayer won't make God love you more than he did yesterday. John3:16 made his love plan clear for mankind. You need to tell yourself that if God loves truly, then I'm in the beloved of God. In the kingdom, God doesn't have favourites as some preachers have made us to believe, I believe it because God's word said so. What applies to you also applies to them.

When next the devil wants to make you feel inferior to your Christian neighbour, just tell him 'I'm already accepted in the beloved and I don't need to prove a point to you'.

Action point

CONFESSION: Father thank you for accepting me in the beloved.
