In science, when a new phenomenon is found, we'll say 'so and so' was discovered. The process of finding a new thing in science entails hypothesis and experiment. There are tools available for such scientific discoveries but for spiritual things, we get to know new things by revelation not by discovery.
No man can discover God, but God can only revealed to us by his Spirit through Christ our Lord. From the beginning, religion has been trying to know God by discovery but Christ has come to reveal the father to us once we accept him. There's a quest or a longing in everyman to know God even atheist have a liking for the supernatural in one way or the other.
The proper channel to know the father is through Christ. Christ choses who to reveal the father to. If you want to know God's nature, look at Christ and follow him. That's why we call it, Christianity. The focus and vision is Christ. If you're caught in the web of religion with the aim of wanting to know God, without Christ your desire to know God can't be fulfilled.
No man has the tool to discover God, he is a supernatural being whose ways are past finding out but can only be revealed.
Father, reveal yourself to me the more In Jesus name. Amen
