Luke11:8 I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.
Jesus taught about a very important type of prayer in the book of Luke chapter 11. The prayer of importunity is a type of prayer that involves shameless persistence in faith. Children know a lot about this better than adults. If a child is in need of new clothes or shoes especially at Christmas, they way they put pressure on their parents can make them go borrow if they don't have the means.
When I was growing as a young lad, one thing my parents dare not tell at Christmas is that there is no money to buy new clothes. Buying new clothes at Christmas was a must because of my shameless persistence. The prayer of importunity is a type of prayer where you don't take 'No' for an answer.
Can you cling in faith? You must note that this type of prayer is not faithless persistence but a rugged shameless persistence in faith. The mother of Jesus was persistent on Jesus to make him perform a miracle even when Jesus wasn't willing, the widow employed this method against the unjust judge in Luke 18. Don't give-up, employ the power of shameless persistence.
Father, I receive the grace to stand in the place of prayer until there is a turn around in Jesus name. Amen
