Phil3:12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
There are certain problems common to successful people especially in the things of God. Pride and the feeling of having arrived is a major problem that must be dealt with. Apostle Paul was a man that achieved so many great feat for the master, he healed the sick, raised the dead and through him mighty signs and wonders occured.
He knew there was a height that he hadn't attained and a depth in God yet untapped. When people were singing his praises, his ears were deaf to listen to what men said about him. Praise singers almost ruined Jesus' ministry but thank God he followed through till the end. Some ministers love when people give special comments about them or their programmes either physically or on social media. Some young folks only became fellowship president and they were swollen with pride.
Some felt that having been president of a fellowship in school or their service year is the height of ministry so they relax thereafter and become story tellers. Dearest, thank God for the success of yesterday but don't dwell there, there are heights in God yet to be attained, depths unreached and spiritual treasures yet to be explored. I see this syndrome as the reason many burning Christians on campus backslide after school, it is not only the pressure of life that affects them but the feeling of having attained the highest height in God while on campus.
Approach each day as a new day with a fresh challenge to attain the highest goal in God.
I reject the negative effect of little success syndrome and I press on In Jesus name. Amen
