Proverbs15:1 A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare. NLT

A woman who was a victim of battery reported her husband to her Pastor so that the Pastor will pray for her marriage. The Pastor knowing what her problem was gave her a broom stick, he told her to put the broom stick in her mouth whenever her husband is angry and never allow it fall off. She took that advice and her husband was amazed at what her wife has turned to.

She met with the Pastor to thank him for his prayers. The Pastor told her that he didn't pray, he only discovered that she was 'sharp tongued' so he devised that method for her so that she won't be hasty in talking. Her harsh and hasty replies to her husband has earned her several slaps and beatings.

The scripture cannot be broken, when you don't know how to answer an angry man softly, you may end up with bruises. I am not supporting wife battery, men should also learn to talk or reply their wives gently. When you return anger for anger, a brawl may result. When next your spouse is angry, let your answer be gentle and appealing.
