Hebrews12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. NLT
In the game of football or other sport, there is always a stand for spectators that will be cheering the players or booing them. In some cases, some of those spectators have also played the game before and they would be watching with an analytical mind-set, they'll be saying to themselves or to others in the crowd how a player should have played or handled the situation on the field of play.
Those that have gone ahead of us into glory, who were once on this earth are watching us, they are looking at how we are running the race. They've been on this field of play before and the circumstances that we are facing is not new to them because they've faced it once and overcome. If you say you are tempted to fornicate, Joseph would tell you that it is not new because he was once in your shoes and he over came.
We have a race that is set before us, let us run it diligently with God's help and not in our strength. We have examples of those that have run the race successfully, let us study about them in the scriptures and emulate them. Those stories in the bible aren't written for historical purpose but for us to learn how to live victoriously in this sinful world.
Father, I receive the grace to run my Christian race diligently In Jesus name. Amen
