In the military, there are ranks. This is readily seen on uniforms. The signs&symbols on the uniform of a private is not the same as that of a Colonel. Those in lower hierarchy submits to those with higher rank.

In the spirit realm where God, Satan, angels and demons are, there is hierarchy. You and I need to understand this as it will help us in warfare.

In the story of Daniel when he prayed in the province of Persia, the organization and hierarchy of the spirit realm played out:  

"Then he said, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer. But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me, and I left him there with the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia".Dan 10:12‭-‬13 NLT

In that text, a demonic prince was introduced to us. He is called prince of Persia. Persia was a kingdom in their time. Today, Persia is known as Iran. That demonic prince was the demonic controller of Persia from the spirit realm.

Every town, villages and cities in the world have their demonic princes who execute the agenda of hell. One of the agenda of hell in Daniel's time was to prevent the angel of God from bringing answer to Daniel's prayer. This is no fiction.

This is real event in the spirit world that impacted the earthly realm. It is still happening today. Have you ever considered how and why a demonic prince prevented a holy angel from going to where he was sent?

One would think that an angel from heaven where God dwells should be so powerful and unstoppable. Anyway, hierarchy and organization played out here. The angel of God was resisted by a high ranking demonic personality.

It is obvious that Prince of Persia had superior hierarchy and strength in that realm than the holy angel who was sent to deliver the answer to Daniel's prayer. If it weren't so, he wouldn't have been so powerful to stop God's angel.

It took the intervention of a superior angel, arch angel Michael ( the prince of Israel) to rescue that angel. Hallelujah!!! The Kingdom of light is superior.

In your region or geographical location, there are controlling powers in that environment that seeks to influence people against the will of God.

Sometimes, people change location and they discover that they've become lazy to pray, lazy in the word and can't just find pleasure in the things of God anymore. Most times, the powers in the spirit realm covering that area are at work.

There are towns and cities where revelry, sexual immorality and laxity towards God and His kingdom is rife due to high presence of demonic engagement.  

Kenneth E. Hagin of blessed memory once said same about a city he went to preach. They were so stingy towards the kingdom because God revealed to him that the demons at work there seeks to frustrate God's work.

You need to understand how these things work so that you can take charge. As a child of God, you can change the narrative and be in-charge of the affairs of your life by controlling things from the spirit realm. The spirit realm controls the physical.

Whatever  you want to see in the physical realm should be controlled from the spirit realm. We do that in the place of prayer.
