I watched a Christian drama that centred on the state of mind of a wealthy man. He was so wealthy. He had houses in major cities of the world. He had big businesses and the things money could buy. He was blessed with a good family but he lacked something- peace.
In search for peace of mind, he did several things but his situation remained the same not until he met a preacher who showed him the secret behind his problem. He was rich but not saved, the devil was his master. He had all money could buy but there was something money couldn't buy that he lacked- peace with God.
Often, there's something the unsaved wealthy, intelligentsias and religious people lack. They lack peace with God. There are people you can't tell to accept Jesus for breakthrough. They and their 4th generation have crossed the poverty line. There must be something more than money that they need.
In their hearts, there's a void, an emptiness and a longing to make peace with God. Religion makes attempt to fill that emptiness and make peace with God but without result.
One may have all that money can buy and still lack peace with God.
Your justification as a believer is what brings peace between you and God: "Therefore, since we have been JUSTIFIED through faith, WE HAVE PEACE WITH GOD through our Lord Jesus Christ", (Romans 5:1).
This peace is made possible simply because Jesus Christ reconciled you to God: "For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, NO LONGER COUNTING PEOPLE'S SINS AGAINST THEM. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation" (2 Cor 5:19 NLT). The reconciliation of Christ is what brought peace. Hallelujah!!!
Peace with God is what you have now that you're saved. This is something you should be thankful for daily. If God had put a monetary price tag on this, you may not be able to purchase it. That's why salvation is worth more than gold&silver.
Wealth is good but cannot buy the treasures of salvation. Knowing that I have peace with God is the reason I won't listen to the enemy's accusations about my past and so should you.
