SHUN THE HELP OF EGYPT

Isaiah 31:1 *What sorrow awaits those who look to Egypt for help, trusting their horses, chariots, and charioteers and depending on the strength of human armies instead of looking to the Lord, the Holy One of Israel*. NLT

I heard the story of a preacher in a locality who preached against occultism fiercely. He took Ill and all they did proved abortive. Someone suggested they should seek the help of occultic people in the area so he agreed. When he got there, the occult master was shocked to see their greatest critic coming for help.

He agreed to help on the condition that he would recant all he ever said against them. That was a tough one but he did. Immediately he acceded to that request, he died. That's how the devil mess up those who go to Egypt for help.

Egypt is symbolic of the world. It is an anti God system created by Satan but run by men loyal to him. They have their principles and strategies of getting things done. Most times, their help seems like a better option but it leads to destruction.

On several occasion when I board public transport, I see posters of Indian temples telling people to come for love charm, contract charm and other types of charms that will make life better for them. These people have a high patronage even from among those that claim to be children of God. In time of challenges, where do you seek help from?

Any help you receive outside the principles and power of the living God is a help from Egypt. "Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong;..." (Isa31:1).

Sometimes, seeking help from Egypt may not necessarily entail diabolism. It could be a compromise of one's faith to get something done.

Some young ladies have been told to lower their standard of purity to get a husband. Some actually got their husbands that way but one can tell the kind of husband they got- a man without godly principles. There are counsels of Egypt today.

You cannot look up to God and be put to shame neither is there any woe or sorrow for those whose gaze is fixed on the holy one of Israel. The help you need is not with any man neither can it be found in Egypt but in God. All you need do is to focus on him alone. Don't subscribe to options.

Psalm34:5 says, "Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces", Hallelujah!!!

I love the illustration God gave to Bishop David Oyedepo. God  instructed him to look up with one eye and look down with the other. He couldn't do it. That shows the impossibility of looking up to God and looking elsewhere for help at the same time. Let your motto be "If it is not from God, it is not good for me". Our help comes from above.

Action Point:

Father, help me. I subscribe to your help. I refuse the help of Egypt in Jesus name.
