THE DOCTRINE OF JUSTIFICATION. Pt.11

March 28, 2026 · Lanre Oyeleke

Romans5:1 *Therefore, since we have been JUSTIFIED through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ*.

THE GROUND OF JUSTIFICATION

God is sovereign but not arbitrary. For all He does, He has purpose(s) in mind. Also, there are principles that govern His acts. Even though we sometimes think of God as someone that decides what He wishes but from scriptures, we see clearly that God is not arbitrary. As good as justification is, there is a ground for it without which God wouldn't justify anyone. God did not just declare the sinner justified. There's a ground for it and the ground for justification is the blood of Jesus: "Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!"(Romans 5:9 NIV). There is power in the blood of Jesus. Without it, your redemption and mine wouldn't be possible: "But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ"(Eph2:13). Justification is one of the benefits of redemption. Old timers know the power in the blood of Jesus that's why they sing and talk about it. Anything that can cleanse sin is powerful enough to provide justification: "Whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins"( Rom3:25). The blood is heaven's detergent for cleansing: "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace"(Eph1:7). Hallelujah!!! When the devil comes with barrage of accusations, guilt and condemnation, show him the blood. Remind him about the cleansing power of the blood. If you don't know how powerful the blood of Jesus is, read this scripture: "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin"(1John1:7). Even under the old covenant, the blood was a vital part of their ritual: "Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin"(Heb9:22). The devil hates when we talk about the blood of Jesus. That's why he uses all manners of tricks to prevent us from partaking in the communion. Never underestimate the power of the blood.
Action point

I bring all accusations of Satan under the blood. I am justified freely by grace, I am saved. I have peace with God, I am justified. I have peace with God, Christ has reconciled me to God. The father is not holding my past against me because Christ paid for it. His blood washed me now I'm saved. I refuse to reason with the devil, I refuse to listen to my feelings, I have peace with God, I am saved. Hallelujah!!!
