Human race inherited sin from Adam, our federal head: "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned"(Romans 5:12 NIV).
In Adam, all of sinned. We were in his loins when we sinned not because we acted wrongly but because we inherited a sinful nature from him:"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23 NIV).
The unborn child is a sinner by nature. To make matters worse, everyone was conceived and born in sin: "Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me", (Psalms 51:5 NIV).
The unregenerate man is inherently sinful. No man is born born-again. Everyone born of a woman inherited that nature of sin. In our generation, some persons have claimed to be saved from their mother's womb but that's against the truth of scriptures.
Not even children of preachers are born again from birth. Because of this sinful nature, we all attracted a penalty- death.
Scriptures says, "For the wages of sin is DEATH, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord"(Romans 6:23 NIV).
The death implied here is spiritual death (separation from God) and eternal death ( eternal punishment in the lake of fire). That's the penalty for our sinful nature.
One of the several things justification does to the believer is the remission of the penalty of sin, which was spiritual & eternal death: "He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification"(Romans 4:25 NIV). Check Romans 3:24-26.4.
In justification, Christ took the penalty for our sins and gave us His righteousness. Hallelujah!!!
Paul confirmed this truth and preached it in his first missionary journey: "Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses"(Acts 13:38-39 NIV).
Your justification has freed you from partaking in the penalty of the sinful nature- death.
As a child of God, you carry a new life. The eternal life of God is already in you: "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life"(1Jn5:13). Hallelujah!!!
You're no longer subjected to the penalty of death (spiritual & eternal) because you now carry the very life of God. Yes, we are prone to dying physically but the believer who dies or sleep in the Lord has the hope of resurrecting into eternal bliss.
The benefits of the believer's justification is immeasurable. Money cannot buy it neither can religion grasp its length and breadth. Every day when you wake up, the first thing you should thank God for is the salvation of your soul. You're not just justified only to be forgiven but to be free from the penalty of the sinful nature.
The way of salvation always sound too good to be true that's why the devil invented religious rites for men so that they can pay for what Christ has made free.
Let it sink deep down into your heart, as long as you've given your life to Christ, you have no recorded past in Christ ( 2Cor5:17).
