STAY LOYAL TO JESUS

Philippians 4:1 *Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stay true to the Lord. I love you and long to see you, dear friends, for you are my joy and the crown I receive for my work* NLT

The epistle of Paul to the Philippians was written while he was in prison. This epistle is dubbed as an epistle of joy because of his counsel for them to rejoice despite his imprisonment. He could have said otherwise because of hia condition.

In the final chapter, starting from verse 1, he admonished Phillipian believers to stay true to the Lord. Meaning they should stand firm in Christ and be loyal to him.

As a prisoner who was locked and deprived of freedom, he may have had reasons for his faith and commitment to God tested but right there in the midst of storm, he wrote a beautiful epistle that has blessed generations.

I am of the opinion that Paul  preached in that prison and won souls not minding his chains. For him, trials of life was an opportunity to reachout to others in similar trial and not to curse God as some would have done.

Dearest, I am writing to you to stay true to the Lord in this season of your life. Challenges will come, situations and circumstances that will tempt us to deny our faith and compromise will come but we must take our stand and remain loyal to Jesus.

God did not promise us a life that is free from trials, what he promised is victory over life's challenges. Life's trials will test your loyalty to Jesus Christ.

John 16:33 says,  "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world”.

A preacher once said, "You are either on your way into trial or right in the midst of trial or you are on your way out of it".

In whatever situation you find yourself, please stay true to Jesus. Hold him firmly and do not waver between opinions. Compromise will knock, please, do not open.

Action Point:

Father, I thank you for your word. I receive the grace to stay true to Jesus despite life's challenges in Jesus name
