HOLY SPIRIT
When Jesus was about to leave the earth, He promised to send the Holy Spirit who is the third person in the God-head(John14:16). Jesus Christ made it known to his disciples that He would send another comforter. The word 'another' in the Greek language is 'Allos' which denotes another person of the same kind. Just as they have seen Jesus teach, perform miracles, heal the sick, give good counsel, rebuke and do the will of God, that 'another comforter' would also come to do the same albeit through the believers. Jesus knew that it was impossible for his disciples to do anything meaningful without the Holy Spirit that was why He told them to wait in the upper room until they are endued with power from on high(uke24:49).
If you want to be high, you need to be baptized in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. What alcohol is to the natural man is what the Holy Spirit is to the spiritual man and much more. Paul advised that we should not be filled with alcohol but we should be filled with the Holy Spirit(Eph5:18). Sometimes, timid people drink alcohol to get some Dutch courage but as believers, all we need is to immerse ourselves in the Spirit to be able to do God's will. Peter, the fearful and double-tongued disciple won 3000 thousands souls to the Lord after he was baptized with the Holy Spirit(Acts2:14-42). His shadow was so anointed to the extent that it healed sick people(Acts5:15). The signs and wonders you read about in the Acts of Apostles were the works of the Holy Spirit. That book is Acts of the Holy Spirit through the Apostles. He can do more today through willing and yielded vessels.
The Holy Spirit is God's chief executive officer on the earth today. He came on the day of Pentecost like a mighty rushing wind and ever since(Acts2:1-4), he's been with us on the earth doing mighty works through believers. He is a divine personality that can talk, counsel and do all we need him to do. Don't make the mistake of limiting His work to giving you the ability to speak in new tongues, that's just an initial evidence of his infilling. Much more than speaking tongues, He is the one that would enable you to do all the will of God including living a Holy life. After they spoke in tongues in the upper room, the next we saw was that they began to preach the gospel from house-to house and city-to-city. They couldn't fulfill the great commission without Him. As you seek to win the lost, you must desire to get them filled with the Spirit. Also, teach them to have a sound fellowship with Him. We need Him daily.
Father, baptize me with your Spirit. Holy Spirit come upon me afresh and use me to do God's will on earth In Jesus name.
