DIAGNOSING RELATIONSHIP pt. 2

November 02, 2019 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. KJV

WORD-RAY

The x-ray machine has been in use for ages. In medical applications, X-ray generators are used by radiographers to acquire x-ray images of the internal structures (e.g., bones) of living organisms, and also in sterilization. I discovered that God's word can also be used to discern what is inside a man. It is a discerner of thoughts and intents of the heart. In medical science, they have X-ray but in this kingdom, we have word-ray. Hallelujah!!!

How does this work in a relationship? You must be so full of the truth of God's word to a point where if you see anti-bible traits or life style in the person asking for your hand in marriage, you will know it for what it is and quit. Some are in the wrong relationship thinking they're in love. They are seeing certain traits that could be inimical to the progress of their marriage in future but they don't have a full conviction about how dangerous those things are. Before I got married, the Holy Spirit prompted me to read Proverbs 4,5&6. Those three chapters were my favourite because they described to me what a strange woman looked like. And I thank God I didn't fall into the hands of strange women.

As a single, you need thorough bible study more than you need a marriage seminar. In the days of our fathers in the faith, they didn't have much of marriage seminars and resources as we have it today, majority got it right and their marriages lasted. So what happened to the generation that has marriage counselors and books? Commitment to the word, discipleship and genuine Christian life style is the missing link. Even if you don't see open visions and trances, you can use the word to diagnose those that come your way. The Bible said we shouldn't make friends with an angry man, Prov22:24. If the Bible forbids friendship with a hot-tempered fellow, do you think the same bible would support marrying such a person? Those that have been soaked in the word will not say yes or continue in a relationship with someone whose life doesn't align with the word.
