TEST IT IN GOD'S LABORATORY Pt.7

1 John4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. ESV

THE SALVATION QUESTION

Another factor that must be considered when subjecting prophecies to test is salvation. It is not safe to follow what an unsaved man says in prophecy.

It is not a question of whether what they say is accurate or not rather it is a test of the spirit behind operation. After all, astrologers, crystal ball gazers and mystics predict accurately.

Years back, a controversial prophet was rejected by the umbrella body of Pentecostals because they heard he claimed to have been born again from his mother's womb.

If truly he said that, it means he doesn't understand what salvation is all about. Nobody was born saved, we were all born into sin in need of a saviour.

The psalmist says, "For I was born a sinner— yes, from the moment my mother conceived me."(Psalms 51:5 NLT).

To buttress this point further, apostle Paul says, "For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard."(Romans 3:23 NLT)

At the right time when we've grown in understanding, we are meant to give our lives to Christ.

To many who listen to such a prophet, they would see him as a supernatural being who deserves their followership because of his acclaimed salvation from the womb.

Many of such ministers exists today, they demand worship and are taking the place of the Holy Spirit in the lives of their members.

The test of salvation is very crucial. The many prayer houses today are just interested in prayer and prophecy but not in the salvation of their comers. When the prophet is not saved, how can he be concerned about the salvation of others?

If a man doesn't have genuine salvation experience, it is not safe to be under such a fellow. Salvation experience should be the starting point of any man's journey before entering into ministry.

Be intentional about trying spirits to ascertain whether they are genuine or not. A minister performing miracles without salvation experience is a time bomb waiting to explode.
