TEST IT IN GOD'S LABORATORY Pt.3

Acts16:16 Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling.

ACCURACY IS NOT ENOUGH PROOF

There's a guy I often see in traffic on my way to church. He begs for money and whenever he comes begging, he says things that are accurate about those he beg from.

I know he is insane and he is not operating by the Spirit of God. Whatever insight he has about people is by the operation of familiar spirit. Yes, familiar spirits can reveal things that are accurate about people. Necromancers operate using familiar spirit.

I have seen people queueing behind a prophet because his prophecies are accurate. That may look harmless on the outside but there may be more to it.

One of my associates told me about a prophet who came to their house to see his clients most of whom were into internet fraud. This prophet predicted accurately yet the question mark on his prophetic ministry is that he's also a prophetic consultant for internet fraudsters.

If you're close to your bible, you will know that the spirit behind his accuracy isn't God. The Spirit of God doesn't aid and abbet fraudulent activities.

The story of the slave girl in Acts16 is a lesson for us all in that regard. We were told that this slave girl predicted the future for people and earned great money for her masters.

If her predictions weren't accurate, nobody would patronize her. Obviously, she was always spot on and that earned her money.

In fact, she was right with her proclamation about Paul&his companion being servants of God but when Paul discerned the spirit behind operation, he was angry and he cast it out.

That means a prophet may be accurate in prediction but still, such prophecies may not be from God. God is not concerned with accuracy of prophecies only, He is concerned with the source as well.

Apostle Paul was discerning to know the slave girl wasn't connected to God but to familiar spirits. Brethren, I don't want you to be moved by 'thus saith the Lord' but what is written in the word of God.

The word of God is the accurate and infallible prophetic writing. That is why it is called 'a more sure word of prophecy',(2Pet1:19).

If you want to know how God thinks or you want to know God's mind on an issue, look into God's word.

Be so addicted to God's word to the extent that God can speak to you on everything from the pages of scriptures.
