SPIRITUAL FATHERHOOD ANGLE
Sometime ago, a very controversial prophet was questioned about his spiritual root. He emerged on the scene but no one could trace where he was coming from. Every man should have a traceable root.
The history of my Christian journey can be written and traced because there are people God used to raise me. I can easily point to the people God used to raise me over the years.
In ancient Israel, there was a register of prophets and their writings. Also, prophets knew each other and their roots. Prophets had known trainers and one could trace the trajectory of their rising except for a few.
Over the years, I discovered that one of the things that gives credibility to a man's ministry is who he is submitted to as his spiritual father.
Today, there are many preachers, teachers, pastors and prophets in town with bogus bill boards and titles yet they cannot point to anyone as their spiritual father. Beware of heeding to someone whose spiritual paternity is not traceable.
In these days where prophets emerge from nowhere, you can also test their genuiness by assessing them from the angle of spiritual fatherhood. Who raised him? Who taught him the fundamentals of the Christian faith?
While some do not have a traceable spiritual father, some have spiritual fathers that are phony. What kind of spiritual son do you think a greedy and occultic spiritual father would produce?
Somehow, people pattern their ministries after their spiritual father. Most of the criminals in town wearing cassock and 'prophelying' have a spiritual father that is exactly like them. This matter is very crucial because of the times we are in.
Have you ever questioned the spiritual paternity of that prophet or pastor? It is clear that Timothy was the Spiritual son of Paul. Elisha's prophetic ministry received a boost because the people knew who his spiritual father was.
They knew that his spiritual father followed God so they saw a replica of Elijah in him. In addition to other prescribed litmus test, do not neglect the angle of verifying spiritual paternity.
Father, I will not fall victim of fake prophets and ministers In Jesus name.
