Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.” NLT
THE CRITIC, THE EMBITTERED AND ANGRY SOUL
Our generation has so many embittered and angry people who vent their anger and vituperations against God and anything He is doing through His servants.
These people also desire to be used by God yet they take the position of a critic. They rarely see any good thing about those God is using. Social media has amplified their voices. Unfortunately, they are followed by the simple and undiscerning.
One would think they have a message for the body but they spew only galls. Unfortunately, they may have a large following but If you look through them, they are bitter and angry souls.
Hebrews 12:15 says, "See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many" (NIV).
No matter how gifted and knowledgeable you are, bitterness and critical spirit will corrupt your endowments. God cannot use bitter souls.
Miriam and Aaron, the sister of Moses were embittered, critical and angry at their brother when he married a cushite but deep within, their anger wasn't only because he married a cushite. They were envious and jealous about how God was using Moses.
How did I know? Read this: "They said, “Has the Lord spoken only through Moses? Hasn’t he spoken through us, too?” But the Lord heard them" (Numbers 12:2-3 NLT). This is not a statement of rebuke to Moses but a statement of anger, bitterness and envy. We all know how it ended.
You cannot start a great thing for God from a critical, bitter and angry spirit especially against others whom God is using. God doesn't raise police and detectives in His kingdom.
Those who start out with the spirit of "I can also do what he is doing" will never go far. This account for many breakaways and multiplicity of ministries yet without eternal impact.
Their voice may be heard for a while but with time, the volume reduces till we hear them no more.
Even if you're offended, do your best to reconcile. Don't carry bitterness around in your bosom. The devil finds expression through angry and bitter souls. May that not be your portion.
Father, rid me of bitterness and cleanse me totally in Jesus name.
