While reading about Samson's growth, I saw that he experienced a stirring of heart by the Spirit. That may sound unclear to some but I will give a little back ground to that.
At that time, Israel was without a king. Those were era judges but as soon as a judge dies, they came under the oppression of their enemies. At the time of Samson's birth, they were under the oppressive rule of the Philistines.
The birth of Samson was for a purpose- to liberate the people of God from the Philistines as a Judge. However, he couldn't undertake the task of liberation except the Lord point his heart towards it.
The Holy Spirit worked on his heart and began to prepare him for his assignment of liberation. Often, that's the very first thing the Holy Spirit does before giving anyone a task. He will stir your heart towards that thing.
One of the ways to discern what the Lord want us to do is to check the stirrings of the Spirit in our heart. Some have been praying to know what their assignment is. They sense the call of God on their lives but cannot point to the very thing God would have them do.
I have a question for you, what are the stirrings you have in your heart? What burden do you carry on your heart?
For every child of God who desires to fulfill God's purpose, God will never fail to place a strong burden on your heart for a people or to solve a problem.
As you pray in the Spirit, the burden becomes stronger. It won't leave you until you start working towards it.
