GOD'S STRATEGY IS NOT STATIC

2 Samuel 5:19 *"So David asked the Lord, “Should I go out to fight the Philistines? Will you hand them over to me?” The Lord replied to David, “Yes, go ahead. I will certainly hand them over to you*”( NLT).

David enquired from the Lord whether to go ahead and fight his enemies or not. The Lord gave him the go ahead. He fought and won.

Reading that same chapter downwards, he enquired from the Lord again whether to fight his enemies or not. God gave him the go ahead but this time, God gave him a different strategy he'll use to fight and conquer.

2 Samuel 5:23-24 (NLT) says, "And again David asked the Lord what to do. “Do not attack them straight on,” the Lord replied. “Instead, circle around behind and attack them near the poplar trees. [24] When you hear a sound like marching feet in the tops of the poplar trees, be on the alert! That will be the signal that the Lord is moving ahead of you to strike down the Philistine army”.

There is a great lesson to learn here. In the first instance when he fought the Philistines, he fought randomly using his military experience and skill but the second time, God gave him an unusual strategy on how to fight and conquer the same enemy.

If he had relied on previous strategy, it may not work despite receiving instruction from the Lord to go ahead. This is where most of us fail as believers. Truly, we heard from God concerning a particular issue but we fail to ask for the strategy of execution.

We often think the way it worked previously is the way it will work again. The things of the Spirit don't work like that. We must keep in step with God per time because God is not static.

The same God who told Abraham to sacrifice his son was the same God who told him not to kill the boy and made provision for a ram. If Abraham hadn't listened to the last instruction, he could have killed Isaac citing the first instruction.

Learn to always ask questions from the Holy Spirit so that you can get updates from heaven per time.
