THE MAN DIED BECAUSE OF LOVE

1 John 4:10 *This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins* ( NLT).

It is no news to you that Christ died in his first coming to the earth. To those outside the fold, this may not make much sense to them because their religious leaders died as well.

I think it is more fitting to say Jesus was killed. His death was not because of old age, sickness or accident. His death was planned by God for a purpose even before the foundation of the earth was laid.

Revelation 13:8 says, "And all the people who belong to this world worshiped the beast. They are the ones whose names were not written in the Book of Life that belongs to the Lamb who was slaughtered before the world was made"(NLT).

Sin made us an enemy of God. For a proper reconciliation to take place, God sent his son to die. Romans 5:10 says, "For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son"( NLT).

The death of Christ is a sign that shows God loves us. Romans 5:8 says "But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners"( NLT).

His death was one of the processes involved in our redemption. He did not die because he was powerless, poor, helpless or without authority. His love for sinners made him surrender himself to be killed so that he can use his blood as the ransom for the sins of the world.

In his death, we have life and that life is eternal life. A life that is incorruptible.

If you are reading this and you are yet to give your life to Jesus Christ, do not let his death be in vain in your life.

Action Point:

Father, I thank you for sending your son to die for my sin. Forgive me and wash me with the blood of Jesus. I believe he died for me and I confess him as my Lord and saviour. Thank you for accepting me in the beloved in Jesus name.
