Psalm 118:5 In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free.

DEVELOP A VIRILE PRAYER LIFE

I have been through some wilderness seasons that transformed my prayer life. One of such seasons was in 2006 while on campus.

I almost lost my studentship on campus. I was in school for weeks without a bearing, floating and totally confused. It was a time of great depression for me and I hope to write all that happened during that phase of life in my autobiography as the Lord permit.

One thing that resulted from that period in my life was a virile prayer life. I fasted for days and I lost count. The battle was tough but I decided to seek God's face.

Anytime I look back at those times, i thank God for what He did in my life. I went through the furnace of stagnancy but a strong prayer culture resulted from that season.

I felt my prayers were wasted because I didn't get the desired result but I understood much later that God had a hand in what happened and it was God's way of realigning me for His purpose.

The wilderness season of your life should produce a strong prayer life in your walk with God. That thing you're going through should make you run to Him in prayers and not to run away from Him.

I once heard a father in the Lord say he had a challenge in his life, he prayed for 3 hours straight. Something he had not done before. A revolution occured in his prayer life.

I have noticed that mighty men in the school of prayer did not just get there in one day, challenges launched them into a deeper dimension of prayer.

Pastor E.A. Adeboye said the opposition against Him early in ministry when he became the General Overseer was what led him into 40 days fasting and prayer without food. Something he had not done before that time.

After that phase was over, 40 days fasting&prayer became a lifestyle and we can see the product of his prayer life every where.

There are battles you cannot win with sweet grammar. Those battle are fought and won on your knees. No one will pray your portion of prayers for you.

In the wilderness season, God want to make you outgrow dependency on the prayer life of others. He want you to have a personal prayer altar and not rely on your pastor or mother's prayer life alone.

David said, "Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight"( Psalms 144:1).

The wilderness season is heaven's war college. That is where you learn the art and science of warfare. I laugh at those who scorn the reality of spiriitual warfare.

Some persons are now denying the reality of spiritual warfare. The denial of the enemy's work is not a guarantee of victory. The right thing to do is to acknowledge the victory of Christ on the cross and enforce it.

The enforcement of our purchased victory is the warfare I'm talking about. I see some believers in serious mess but they hang on to mere talks and confessions instead of addressing the root of their issues in prayers.

Before you enter the promised land, God want to strengthen your prayer life because it is a tool for warfare. There are enemies at the gate of your promised land,

Action point

Father, I receive grace to cultivate a strong& steady prayer life In Jesus name.
