Hebrews 5:8 Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered (NIV).
CHARACTER REFINERY(D)
Jesus Christ had his fair share of wilderness experience. Sometimes, we do not pay attention to the sufferings of the Christ as we should.
The idea of his suffering we have is the suffering on the cross but that's just the height of it but not all.
For Christ to leave His glory to take the form of a man is a form of suffering on its own. I am very sure most of us would have declined to come to the earth to redeem mankind if we had lived in heaven and tasted of her glory.
For a man like me that have seen two sides of life, i'll rather choose to stay in heaven than come to the earth let alone Nigeria.
Christ left His glory, He took the form of a man: "Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form" ( Philippians 2:7 NLT).
Can you imagine what His growing years were like? Probably, his mother treated him like a child, gave him instructions on where to play, where to go, what to eat and when to eat.
For a man like Jesus Christ who is God Himself, that's suffering yet the bible said He learnt obedience through what He suffered.
Even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered ( Hebrews 5:8 NLT).
God's purpose for allowing the wilderness experience is not to kill you but to refine your character. Jesus couldn't offer eternal salvation not until he passed through the wilderness season.
Hebrews 2:10 says: "God, for whom and through whom everything was made, chose to bring many children into glory. And it was only right that he should make Jesus, through his suffering, a perfect leader, fit to bring them into their salvation" (NLT).
We need to be sensitive to the dealings of God and the seasons in which we find ourselves. What you are going through is permitted for a reason.
The earlier you learn your lessons and submit to the dealings of God, the quicker your exit from the university of wilderness.
You are coming out strong in Jesus name.
Father, make me the man you want me to be In Jesus name.
