John8:44 For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does...When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies( NLT).
The strength of the enemy lies in his ability to deceive people with convincing proofs. He makes people believe a lie.
Right believing produces right living while wrong believing produces wrong living. The latter is the goal of the enemy- to make you believe a lie so you can live a lie.
One of the lies Satan tell those that are sexually immoral is "everyone is doing it". People console themselves with that mentality.
Hey! Not everyone is doing it. I have met people who believe a man must have at least one vice.
It is either he's a womanizer, smoker, drunk or a gambler. That assertion doesn't make people embrace true freedom from sin.
Even If everyone is doing it, the bible said that we should not follow multitudes to do evil: “You must not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you are called to testify in a dispute, do not be swayed by the crowd to twist justice"( Exodus 23:2 NLT).
The multitudes may not be right always. The path of righteousness has only few people walking on it.
But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it ( Mt 7:14). The path of righteousness has never been popular. Only few walk in it.
The easiest way to perish with the world is to join the majority. The word of God should be your guide under all circumstances.
Some married men believe in what they call 'side chick'. The believe is that you cannot enjoy one woman all your life so there must be an assistant 'wife'. That's crass error.
Most times, you will notice that when you're tempted, the first picture the devil brings to you are those that are doing it and going scot-free.
Truly, when we look at sexual sin, it seems as if it is the norm today. There are believers that are cohabiting with their spouse-to-be.
That action alone sends the wrong signal to those that are trying to break free from sexual sin.
Whatever God hates is what you should hate even if it has become a norm in the society.
When Satan comes telling you "Everyone is doing it", simply tell him God has remnant few somewhere reserved and preserved in true holiness and righteousness and that's where you belong.
Father, I receive the grace to stand for the truth even If it is not common or popular In Jesus name.
