PROCESSED IN THE WILDERNESS Pt.4
Exodus 2:14 The man said, “Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and thought, “What I did must have become known”(NIV).
CHARACTER REFINERY (B)
The life and times of Moses is worth studying by all. He was a great leader indeed. The Jews don't joke anything from or about Moses. Have you stidied the life of Moses?
His birth, his escape from death during babyhood, miraculous adoption by Pharaoh's daughter, his growth in the palace, his quest for the liberation of his people which led him to kill the Egyptian, how he fled into the wilderness, his encounter with God and return to Egypt?
You are familiar with his story but that's not all there is to his life. Moses sensed the purpose of God for His life while in Egypt, he knew he had a mandate to deliver his people from slavery.
However, he went about it the wrong way when he killed the Egyptian.
He thought no one knew until he was challenged: 'Who made you a ruler and judge over us"?
When he saw that he was not yet 'made' as a leader, he fled into the wilderness to enrol for a 40 years duration character training course.
Moses' character flaw was anger and I believe he may be pompous. Why? He was raised in the house of Pharaoh as a prince.
Those days, princes live large, servants are around to do almost everything. God saw the enormity of his assignment but his character doesn't match. Destiny must match with character but Moses' was different.
The only place where he could be refined in character was in the University of Wilderness. He studied for 40 years in the wilderness citadel of learning.
We didn't hear anything about his life not until he completed his wilderness course. Actually, the world doesn't see men in the wilderness season of life because they are in training.
God is concerned about the quality of your character before handing over great kingdom task to you. Oftentimes, character is formed during the wilderness season of life.
There must be a 'making' before you feature in God's plan for your life.
The dealings of God in our lives give us depth. While men care about height God is concerned with depth.
With great depth, you can reach any height and remain there but with poor depth, you'll crash from any height reached. What do you want?
Father, I submit myself to your dealings upon my life In Jesus name.
