WHAT UNFORGIVENESS WILL DO TO YOU

Matthew 18:34-35, “And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.”

I was privileged to pray for a young teenager sometimes ago. She sent for me through her dad that she had some confessions to make and that I must be there.

Before I got there, she didn't say anything about what she intended to confess to her dad and her guardian whom she stayed with but as I got there, she began to talk. Actually, a demon spoke through her saying he wanted to destroy her.

She confessed how she was demonized and the harm she had done to her host and his family. Truly, the demon in her dealt with that family. All the years she was with them, everything was on standstill in that family.

As she confessed, she felt a strangling effect on her neck. With God's help, we silenced and sent the demon out of her. Though her deliverance was momentary because there were other issues that needed to be dealt with.

I was curious to know why a young girl of her stature and age became so demonized. In our discussion, I discovered she opened the door of her heart to demons through unforgiveness.

She was bitter towards her parents because she felt neglected from childhood. She thought her parents loved her siblings more than her. To make matters worse, she lived with her aunt from childhood so she felt unloved.

Those that live in bitterness towards others and themselves end up harbouring demons. Believers can open the door for demons to torment them If they don't walk in love.

Jesus warns us about this in Matthew 18:23-35. Some persons who live under demonic torment perpetually are harbouring bitterness in their hearts. The moment unforgiveness is given a place, you have legalized demonic torment in your life.

No matter the number of deliverance services you attend, your situation cannot change until you forgive. This is the price you'll pay If you refuse to let go.

Unforgiveness is also known as bitterness. The bible gave stern warnings about bitternes: “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled"( Hebrews 12:15).

Bitterness is also known in the Bible as spiritual poison: “For I perceive that thou art in the gall (poison) of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity"( Acts 8:23).

If you remain in unforgiveness, you prevents God from forgiving your own sins!
Unforgiveness puts up a wall in our relationship with our heavenly Father.

Jesus was very clear that if we are to be forgiven, we cannot be unforgiving towards others: “But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses”( Matthew 6:15)

The price of unforgiveness is high, you can't pay it. Endeavour to walk in love.

Action point

Don't dwell in unforgiveness. Forgive and let go.
