2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
YOU ARE A NEW CREATURE
One truth that is hard for some believers to accept is that they are new. They look at themselves from the standpoint of someone that is refurbished. That view downplays the finished work of Christ on the cross.
A believer is not refurbished. A believer is not just a forgiven sinner saved by grace. A believer is a new specie created in righteousness and true holiness.
Ephesians 4:24 says, “And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness”.
The bible says you are a new creature
A new man. Your old life and it's record no longer exist. You have a new nature in you because your old life has been crucified with Christ.
Apostle Paul, speaking in Galatians 2:20 says, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me”.
Hallelujah!!! You are a brand new man. It is hard for religion to accept this truth because religion always seek to earn salvation through works instead of accepting what Christ has done.
Religion makes people pay to earn forgiveness instead of pointing them to the man who paid for their sins on the cross. Religion never gives men the assurance of salvation because they're not sure where they belong.
The reason some believers are always feeling down, defeated, condemned and guilty is because they haven't accepted what Christ has done for them on the cross. Failure to accept this truth will make you to be defeated perpetually.
New birth is the real birth. Jesus used the term 'born again" deliberately because that is what happens to anyone who gives his/her life to Christ. God didn't repair us, we are born anew. You are not a refurbished creation.
John 3:5-7 says, “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again”.
Every child is born into a family. You are now born into God's family and the power of sonship is yours now.
John 1:12-13 says, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God".
Hallelujah!!! If you see yourself the way God sees you and you start living your new creation status, you cannot be defeated. Your faith is weak because you don't know who you are in Christ.
The devil takes advantage of your ignorance to make your faith weak. That's why he'll always want to shift your focus from truths revealed in scriptures so that you can feel downcast and guilty.
CONFESSION: I am a new creation. I'm a brand new man. Old things are passed away, I'm born again. At the cross, God didn't repair me neither did he refurbish me. A new me was born into God's family. I can boldly call God my father, I am His child. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I am triumphant!
