FOR ALL HAVE SINNED
In one of our trips to the mission field, one of my team members asked what brought me to the place we went.
He was surprised that I left Lagos and went to a village in North Central part of Nigeria.
The very thing driving me to go round is because of what the bible says about sinners and those without Christ.
I'm trusting God to share with you why you need to be proactive in evangelism& missions.
Some persons may wonder why we are passionate about preaching the Gospel. There are believers who are getting tired of our repeated emphasis on reaching out to the lost.
There seem to be a revival of evangelism all around us. God is calling sons into the field to win souls in cities and villages yet some have not joined the train.
The first reason why the world need Jesus is because all have sinned. Romans 3:23 says, *"FOR ALL HAVE SINNED, and come short of the glory of God; KJV
This is the original sin we all inherited from Adam that was passed down from one generation to the next and still ongoing.
Romans 5:12 says, "When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned".
The sin of Adam made everyone a sinner. Everyone in the world became a prisoner of sin: "But the Scriptures declare that we are all prisoners of sin, so we receive God’s promise of freedom only by believing in Jesus Christ"( Gal 3:22 NLT).
New born babies are partakers of this sin even though they are innocent. The Psalmists says, "For I was born a sinner— yes, from the moment my mother conceived me"( Psalms 51:5 NLT).
No human was born sinless. There's nothing like "I was born again from my mother's womb". It is anti scriptures. In sin we were conceived including children of Pastors.
The only person who can rescue us from the consequences of original sin inherited from Adam is Jesus. He was born sinless.
"For God made CHRIST, WHO NEVER SINNED, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ" (2 Corinthians 5:21 NLT).
Hallelujah!!! Christ is without sin. That's what qualifies Him to save every sinner. It is only the sinless one that can save the sinful one. That's why He is a unique high priest
Hebrews 4:15 says, "This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin".
The world is looking for a way out of sin. The sinner needs salvation through a saviour. The only saviour that can rescue the world from sin and its consequences is Jesus Christ.
For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God(1 Peter 1:18-19 NLT).
Christ is the solution to the problem Adam created: "For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ"( Romans 5:17 NLT).
For all have sinned but Jesus is the cure for sin.
This is the first reason I'm a field Evangelist preaching the Gospel and encouraging others to join the train.
Study this short devotional sermon and check all scriptures. Meditate on them and start writing your action plan on how you'll rescue the lost from the consequences of original sin inherited from Adam.
