Hebrews 12:16 See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son.
LOSS OF INHERITANCE
The jewish culture is patriarchal. The first son in a family is considered an important figure. Even if he is the last born, as long as he is the first son in the family, tradition owe him so much. The inheritance that accrues to him is more than that of any other person in the family. By virtue of his position, he is the family leader and upon his shoulder lies the government of his ancestry. It is a thing of honour to be the first son in a Jewish family though it comes with responsibilities. When the writer of Hebrews( our opening text) was warning against sexual immorality and godlessness, he brought in the story of Esau and he compared a sexually immoral or godless person with Esau who sold his inheritance just for a single meal.
It is safe to say that anyone who engage in sexual immorality will trade his/her inheritance(spiritually) for a life of emptiness, shame and doom. Every sexual encounter doesn't leave those involved the same way they were before the encounter. There are a number of persons who have emptied their inheritance on the bed of immorality and are moving around without knowing. The life of some may have been better than what it is today save for their involvement in sexual immorality. There are many believers going from mountain to mountain asking for restoration of what is lost in their lives but haven't closed the door against leakage in their lives. Some persons may think these things are unreal because of some "prosperous immoral" persons they know. The truth of the matter is that when somethings go wrong with some persons, they don't come out in the open to tell us. Also, they have a way of covering it up but behind all we see, there's a serious problem.
What is lost to sexual immorality is more than what is gained. I know a married man who was bubbling and God's blessings were evident in his life. He got involved in sexual immorality with a lady. His wife and some persons knew about this because their amorous affair was disgraceful. Gradually, his life spiralled downward but we didn't know what was wrong. Years later, the young lady whom he was involved with wanted to marry and she demanded a deliverance session. During the deliverance session, the spirit(of immorality) in her spoke about how they have ruined the man's life and that he may never recover in life. Truly, that man has not recovered. He's been struggling ever since. I know those involved in all aspect of this story firsthand. If you value your destiny and the inheritance God has for you as a son, don't play with sexual immorality. It is no sport or fun outside marriage.
I refuse to be hunted, dominated and conquered on the bed of sexual immorality in the name of Jesus. I receive grace to conquer every demonic agent like Delilah sent on a mission to my life in Jesus name. My destiny and glory is preserved in Jesus name.
