BREAKING SOUL TIES(A)

In the spirit realm, a soul tie creates one of the strongest spiritual centripetal forces that connects and brings two or more persons together. Just as it was said previously, a soul tie is the reason why some married women will secretly engage in extra marital affair with their ex boyfriend. Same applies to some men. Unbroken soul tie has broken marriages and rendered lives useless. To break unholy soul ties, repentance is the starting point. True repentance is not just a feeling of remorse for sinning but a total change of mind about sin. You can't say you have repented if you still have plans to engage in sexual immorality even if it is with one partner. The idea of repentance some have is that they will disengage their numerous sex partners and stick to one. That's not true repentance. As long as your engagement with the opposite sex is unholy(even if it is with one person at a time), you have not repented.

"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?"(Romans 6:1-2 KJV). True repentance will break the backbone of unholy soul ties. Repentance is man's responsibility but forgiveness is God's responsibility. In our walk with God, there's a manward side and a Godward side. The immortal God has no business repenting because He is 100% holy but mortal man needs repentance to be put things right with God. God's duty is to forgive and give grace. Forgiveness is God's merciful response to repentance.

When teaching about repentance, I love to use the story of the prodigal son. Scripture says, "When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger!"(Luke15:17). The opening statement of that text "when he finally came to his senses" is the beginning of true repentance. True repentance is only possible when you truly come back to your senses and that's the only time repentance will make sense to God not just when you engage in mere lip confession. You need to realize the damage sexual sin has done in your life and decide never to return. The message of repentance is not old-fashion as some are trying to portray. In several portions of the New testament canon, the theme of repentance runs through. Even to that backslidden church, Jesus said, "Consider how far you have fallen! REPENT and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place." (Rev2:15). You must hate sexual sin passionately and make a decision never to return. Grace is available to help your resolve, ask for it.

Action point

Father, I come before your throne of grace,I need mercy. Lord I receive the grace to turn a new leaf and to go and sin no more in Jesus name.
