LIVING PURE IN A SEX CRAZY WORLD Pt.7

LOSS OF VIRTUES AND GLORY

I know a brother who in his prime was very promising. He was doing fine as a ministry person and all eyes were on him. This brother has depth in bible knowledge and he carried the power of the Spirit. I can attest to this because of the diverse manifestations that characterized his ministry. He need not lay hands on people before they are slain in the Spirit. The spiritual life of this brother degenerated to the point where he became an alcoholic, a cigarette smoker and street guy playing snooker around. This is someone who could have been a pioneer of kingdom revival movement. He was once a terror to the enemy but he lost it on the bed of immorality. The moment he dabbled into sexual sin, he came down. The man who was once loved and admired by all became an object of scorn and derision. He lost the goodwill of the people.

Aside the formation of soul ties, another dangerous effect of sexual immorality is its ability to make a man/woman lose virtues and glory. Sexual immorality has a reducing effect; the opening text describes the effect it has as turning a man to a loaf of bread. The destructible nature of bread is known to all. With ease, anyone can tear bread into pieces. That's the perfect illustration of what the enemy will do to those involved in sexual immorality. In the bible, Samson is an example of this point. After his encounter with Delilah, his hair ( the secret of his power) was shaved. When the Philistines came upon him to over power him, he wanted to rise in power as he used to but the bible said, "And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the LORD was departed from him."( Judges16:20). Oh! That's a sorry state in the life of any man who once walked in the power of the Spirit.

There are many Samsons today. Some have met Delilah and are aground while others are on the way to her house or have invited her not knowing she's on a mission to destroy. Dearest, you carry an enviable glory and your destiny is a threat to the enemy. The devil knows the power you carry and the damage you can do to his kingdom. You are a kingdom time bomb going somewhere to explode. He knows. He will do everything possible to suck you dry and empty you of what you carry through sexual immorality. That's why the devil made the sin of sexual immorality popular and easy today. He's catching people young so that before they realize, their productive years would have been gone. He knows what he is doing. You can call the devil several names but don't call him a fool. He is strategic and calculated. Don't let the enemy have access to your hair( Symbolic of glory&power- 1Cor 11:15) like he did to Samson. Guard your life, your destiny and glory jealously.
