AVENUES FOR EXPLANATION- BIBLE STUDY MEETINGS
A man said, 'unbelievers need preaching while believers need teaching. To preach is to proclaim but to teach is to explain. The believer can grow in the knowledge of God through sound bible-based teaching'. Even if all preachers don't agree with this statement 100%, the truth in it is loud for the deaf to hear. In your quest to learn scriptures like the Ethiopian eunuch did, you must connect with a church where thorough bible study meetings are held.
One of the bane of modern Churches that are seeker friendly is that they lack thorough teaching. Motivation talks with high sounding rhymes have replaced bible study meetings. In fact, I have seen churches with no time for Bible study meetings. All you'll see on their sign board is prayer and Holy Ghost meetings. Those things are good but no one can grow in the faith without striking a balance between prayer meetings and bible study meetings. The Jehovah witnesses have grown in their doctrine because they spend more time in teaching their members than spending time in prayer meetings. It is hard to convert a Jehovah witness member because they are deep in their heresies. Why? They've been taught.
They do two things in their kingdom halls all over the world. They teach them their bible and send them out to evangelize. It baffles me when I see believers that are shallow in the word of God. If you want to be deep and you're hungry for more of God, be regular in Bible study meetings. You don't stop there. Your Bible study should start from your personal closet and continue in the church under a sound teacher. Don't run from Sunday school classes though it is becoming unpopular but that is an avenue to ask questions on grey areas. Be a student of the word.
