AVENUES FOR EXPLANATION- CHRISTIAN LITERATURE
In my Christian walk, one author whose writing influenced my understanding of scripture is Kenneth E. Hagin. I devoured his books like food. In fact, when I was in school as an undergraduate, I read some of his books during examination period. Why? He had deep insight about scriptures and his explanations were simple without ambiguity. Though he doesn't know everything in the Bible but he had insight on certain subjects. Over the years, I learnt alot from other bible teachers who authored several books. I'm still learning today by reading from the writings of those that have gone ahead of me in the faith.
A man once said, " What someone else has documented in a book for you to read, God may not bother telling you directly".I'm just paraphrasing his statement. Well, I don't want to speak like an authority in that regard but I know that some men have documented several experiences and encounters with God. Most of these men we may never meet in our life time. In fact, some have gone to glory yet their insight about the scriptures is divine. Wisdom demands that we buy their books and devour them voraciously. I'm yet to see a truly successful Christian or leader that is not a reader. Stop acting as if you know it all, get good Christian books and read.
Some hoodlums looted a store recently. They carted away with valuables in the store but they left the book section intact. Even though I'm not in support of their rascality but their action points to what they value the most. You shouldn't be buying clothes monthly, looking prim and proper without adequate plans to grow in the faith through reading of books. I have found answers to several questions on the pages of inspired books by Christian authors. You can find answer to that question also. You may be one book away from the answer. Start building a functional library not a decorative one.
