THE MONEY TEST
Years back, I returned from an international outreach with a few thousands left from the traveling allowance. Normally when I'm traveling, the ministry would give me traveling allowance. The left over must be refunded into the account. On this fateful day, I returned to my base in Nigeria. My mother-in-law had spent quite sometime with us. She delayed her return till after my trip. It is normal for us to give her something when she's returning to her base but what was left in my personal account was not up to N10,000.
My wife asked what we would give her. I simply told her God would provide. In my heart, the temptation to take from the ministry's money arose but I made a hard decision not to touch the money. Some minutes after talking to my wife, someone requested for my account details. I did not make any request from the person but God saw my heart. Not long after, I received an alert that settled the needs. When I thought about the whole scenario, I discovered that I just passed the money test. If I had taken that money, nobody would know because it is what I declare that would be recorded but I would have lost credibility with God.
As you climb the ladder of glory, the money test would come. As a preacher, you maybe tempted to start preaching and praying for money. When you start reaching a deal or you bargain with people before praying for them, you have failed money test. Judas Iscariot failed the money test, he was stealing from the ministry purse of Jesus, John12:6. He lost his Apostleship because of greed for gain. Before God would promote you to that level you desire, you must pass the test of faithfulness in handling money. How faithful are you in that little office where you work? Do you steal your boss'money or falsify figures to embezzle money? If the greed for gain has conquered your heart, you may remain on that level for life. God is looking for men He would entrust true wealth into their hands. Money should be a servant not a master.
Father, I receive grace to pass the money test In Jesus name. Amen
