HOW TO DEVELOP YOUR SENSITIVITY TO GOD'S LEADING
The scripture rightly told us about our triune nature(1 Thess5:23). The very aspect of our make-up that connects with divinity is our spirit before anything. Just like a transistor radio, if you do not tune it to the right frequency, it will not catch signals. That's exactly how our spirit works. We are responsible for our sensitivity not God. If we do not master the art of tuning to God's frequency, we would not be led by the spirit. John the beloved received those apocalyptic visions because he was in the spirit ( Rev1:10).
To develop your sensitivity, the very first thing to do is to train and feed your spirit with God's word. What food is to your physical body is what the word of God is to your spirit man. Some are fat in the physical but they are malnourished spiritually. Paul said, "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly..."(Col3:16). You cannot discern God's leading properly if you are not rooted in God's word. I am not talking about reading several chapters but I'm talking about daily diligent study and constant meditation. The scriptures cannot profit you until you study it meditatively.
Fasting and praying in the spirit is another tool for developing your sensitivity. Those who fast often and pray in the spirit do not have problems with being sensitive. Fasting helps to silence the voice of the flesh while praying in tongues tunes your spirit man to God's frequency. In addition to that, you must shun carnality. A carnal believer may not be sensitive because carnality covers our spirit man with a blanket of spiritual dullness and insensitivity. It makes one to be dull. I still do not know if a Christian can go far with God without His word, living a fasted life, praying in the Holy Ghost and shunning carnality.
