Job33:15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
NIGHT VISION- DREAM
This is one of the ways through which God speaks to humanity. In fact, right from the days of the bible, God has been speaking to people through dreams. Pharaoh, a man that was not part of the covenant had a dream but it took the intervention of a man that was part of Yahweh's covenant to interpret his dream(Genesis 41&42). Unbelievers and believers dream at night but it doesn't necessarily mean all dreams are from God. Sometimes, God speak to unbelievers through dreams not nightmares. There's a difference between nightmare and God-given dreams.
Nightmare are night visions that has no head or tail. It comes to terrify us. For example, if a masquerade is chasing you in your dream, that's a nightmare. That's not revelatory. Some of us have bed wetted in real life before because we went to the toilet while playing football in our dream. Another invalid dream that you should discard are dreams that result from the day's activities. It is common to dream about thoughts that dominate your heart throughout the day(Ecclesiastes 5:3). Some of us have dreamt about football and other things that caught our fancy. In addition, most dreams that come during malaria or when we're down with fever are invalid dreams.
Divine night visions always reveal something from God. It is God's way of speaking to us pictorially when we are calm and not encumbered with cares. God comes to us at night mostly because our minds are calm and devoid of anxiety. Those that have learnt to cultivate a quiet spirit may not necessarily dream because their heart is a good ground God can speak to anytime, anyday and anywhere. However, for some persons, night vision is God's regular pattern of speaking to them.
