YOUR ACTION IS A SEED- EXPECT HARVEST SOON

Matthew 7:12, Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Heard the story of a PhD student whose supervisor treated harshly. After several years ( I think over a decade), he abandoned his PhD program and applied elsewhere.

I'm the new institution, he finished in record time. He was employed and he rose to the level of Head of Department after some years.

His former supervisor applied to his department to lecture during his sabbatical but unknown to him, his former PhD student whom he frustrated out of the school was the H.O.D.

He was a major determiner in accepting of his application. This old professor was shocked to discover that his former student was a major decider on the outcome of his application.

In the opening text above, Jesus gave what is commonly called "Golden Rule". He made it clear that action towards others should be done with reciprocity in mind.

That is, you should do to others what you expect them to do to you. It is another way of saying, "The action you sow into people's lives you shall reap so beware of what you do unto others."

Whenever we hear about seed sowing, what comes to mind is giving of money. Most charismatics are familiar with the term "seed."

However, seed sowing is not only about giving money. I have learnt over time that our actions towards others are seeds that will yield a harvest.

The principle of sowing and reaping applies to all things we do including our actions: "Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant"( Galatians 6:7 NLT).

How you treat people is a seed you will harvest now or later. God placed us in a relational world. We can't live on this planet without relating with others.

There's a biblical standard on how we should relate with people regardless of status: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another”(John 13:34).

The seed of love should be sown into the lives of others. You will reap it. Don't expect love when you've not sown it. What you do unto others has a way of coming back to you.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God” (1 John 4:7).

Love one another with brotherly affection (Romans 12:10).

Love one another earnestly from a pure heart(1 Peter 1:22).

Love isn't about words or feelings but how we treat others. How do you treat others? Don't be known for wickedness as a believer.

CONFESSION: Check what you're sowing into the lives of others. Ensure you're sowing actions you want to harvest.
