Matthew6:25 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
Walter B. Knight told the story of John Wesley and a troubled man who expressed his doubt as to the goodness of God.
He said, “I do not know what I shall do with all this worry and trouble.” At the same moment Wesley saw a cow looking over a stone wall.
“Do you know,” asked Wesley, “why that cow is looking over the wall?” “No,” said the man who was worried. Wesley said, “The cow is looking over the wall because she cannot see through it.
That is what you must do with your wall of trouble—look over it and avoid it.” Faith enables us to look past our circumstances and focus on Christ.
I don't know if there's someone on the face of the earth that haven't been worried about a situation or circumstance before. I have been in situations that got me worried to the extent of having headache but I fought against it vehemently.
Anxiety is the opposite of faith. It steals our peace, physically wear us out, drain us emotionally and can even make us sick. Anxiety and fear work hand-in-hand.
Isaiah 35:4: "say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”
Findings showed that anxiety triggered high blood pressure in some patients. The worst part of anxiety is when the devil begin to speak to us and paint evil imaginations in our eyes.
When we worry, we torment ourselves—we're doing the devil's job for him!
Worry is caused by not trusting God to take care of the various situations in our lives.
It is dangerous to take crucial decisions in a state of anxiety. Anxiety comes with confusion. Making decisions in confusion ultimately leads to frustration.
Anxiety doesn't make us see the goodness of God. It makes us see doom and horror.
Just like the cow that looked over the wall, look over the wall of your life's challenges and look unto Jesus.
He is above and beyond the wall of life's challenges. We look unto Jesus by casting all our cares on him.
1 Pet5:7 says: "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." Casting your worries on Jesus is akin to rolling your burdens on him in prayers.
It is a conscious decision made not to dwell or focus on our challenges but to focus on God's greatness, His word and the victory we have in Christ.
If you can condition your mind to think this way, you'll overcome anxiety.
I receive peace of mind over that issue(...mention it to God) and I cast out the spirit of anxiety and worry in Jesus name.
